As a result of strong supply partnerships, Westfalia markets fruit from all over the world, and is developing orchards in new origins with its partners. Major retailers are serviced from sales offices located in
England (Greencell Ltd),
France (Comexa SA), Austria (WMO Fruchthandel), Colombia, Peru (Camet Trading), Chile (Agricom) and California. In addition to marketing services, ripening, packing and handling facilities are operated at these locations. The Group leads the sourcing of avocados from
Africa, channelling around 50% of South Africa’s avocado exports to
Europe, and imports around 23% of all avocados into Europe. This makes Westfalia one of Europe’s largest importers and distributors of fresh fruit.
Westfalia’s accreditations include internationally-recognised GLOBALGAP, Fairtrade, Sedex, LEAF, BRC, EC Reg 2092-91 and HACCP. These accreditations are international audit benchmarks that provide consumers with the assurance that Westfalia is committed to produce hygienic, safe and healthy food while ensuring the sustainable and responsible management of its bio-resources and the communities and environment in which it operates.
