Lovely lemons

Lemons

Lemons have long been known for their health benefits, and were even carried on ships by the early explorers in order to prevent scurvy in sailors. Recent research suggests that lemons were derived from bitter orange, originating in southeast Asia, and citron, originating in India.

Lemons in Chile

In Chile, Agricom has been a leader and pioneer in the production, handling and export of fresh high-quality lemons from Chile to the world. Here, producers and orchards are strategically located in a way that allows us to steadily supply fruit from April to September.

Nutritional Benefits

Because lemons are high in Vitamin C, they are a great source of antioxidants. They contain zero saturated fats or cholesterol, but are good source of dietary fibre (7.36% of RDA). Lemon is one of the very low glycaemic fruits. As a source of flavonoids, lemons can contribute to protection against cancer and cardiovascular disease.
